Overview
If you've forgotten your Genius password or need to regain access to your account, Genius CE & Enterprise provides a self-service password reset process. This article walks you through how to reset your password and what to do if you run into issues.
How Password Reset Works
When you forget your password, Genius uses a secure email-based reset flow:
- A password reset email is sent to the email address on file in your Genius account.
- The email contains a secure link that expires after 1 hour.
- Clicking the link takes you to a form where you create a new password.
- Your account is immediately updated with the new password.
Resetting Your Password
Follow these steps to reset your password:
- Navigate to the Genius login page.
- Click the "Recover Your Password" link.
- Enter the username or email associated with your Genius account.
- Click "Request Password."
- Check your email inbox (including spam/junk folders) for the password reset email.
- Click the reset link in the email. The link is valid for 1 hour.
- You will be asked to enter your new password twice. Make sure it meets the password requirements displayed on the form.
- Click "Submit" to confirm.
- You should see a confirmation message. Use your new password to log in.
Note: If you don't receive the reset email within 5 minutes, check your spam folder and verify the email address on file with your administrator.
Password Requirements
When you create a new password, it must meet the requirements set by your organization. The specific requirements are displayed on the password reset form. At a minimum, all passwords must be at least 8 characters long.

Troubleshooting
Email Not Received
If you don't receive the password reset email:
- Check your spam/junk folder: The reset email may have been filtered.
- Verify your email address: Contact your administrator to confirm the email address on your Genius account is correct.
- Wait a few minutes: Email delivery can sometimes be delayed. If you haven't received it within 5 minutes, try requesting the reset again.
Account Locked
If your account is locked after multiple failed login attempts:
- Contact your Genius administrator or support team to unlock the account.
- Once unlocked, use the password reset steps above to set a new password.
SSO (Single Sign-On) Users
If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO):
- Password resets through Genius may not apply. You authenticate through your organization's identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Contact your organization's IT helpdesk to reset your password instead.
