Affiliations - Genius Enterprise Legacy/Custom

Introduction

This article aims to give you a comprehensive guide on the necessary steps to establish an Affiliation. Additionally, we will explore the process of nesting Affiliations within one another, which enables a more organized structure. Also, we'll explore how to locate these Affiliations once they have been created, facilitating the management of the various groups under which you can categorize your users with greater efficiency.

Creating an Affiliation

To start creating an affiliation, click on the Affiliations tab located within the Genius Admin screens. This action will lead you to a display of all active affiliations associated with your Genius instance:

• Upon clicking the Affiliations tab, you will immediately see a list of all active affiliations. You have the option to select any particular affiliation to access its Profile Page, where you can view and manage its details.

To create a new affiliation, click on the Add Affiliations button located in the sidebar:

This action will bring up the Create Affiliations screen. Within the Create Affiliation tab, you will be presented with fields to define essential details, such as the affiliation's name, the contact person's name, their email address, and other pertinent information. Moreover, you have the flexibility to customize the profile page for each Affiliation, enabling you to add or remove custom fields as necessary. This customization is vital for effectively managing your organization's learning initiatives.

Sub-Affiliations, or Affiliations within Affiliations

Creating a sub-affiliation in Genius is a straightforward process. For instance, if we have already established an affiliation named Test Sub-Affiliation, we can easily create a sub-affiliation under the Test Affiliation by clicking the Add Affiliation button on the sidebar within the Affiliations tab.

• To successfully create a sub-affiliation, please make sure you click on the Parent Affiliation field on the profile page of the affiliation you are working on. This will allow you to select a parent affiliation from the list of all affiliations you have previously created in your organization, thereby establishing a clear grouping for the new sub-affiliation.
• The selection list will display all available affiliations and sub-affiliations, enabling you to create sub-sub-affiliations (or even deeper levels) using the same user-friendly interface that you employed to develop the initial affiliation.

When you create a sub-affiliation, the level of this new sub-affiliation will be indicated on the affiliation's Profile page. Additionally, unique links will be generated with the Affiliate ID, which helps to refine the user experience further to align with the specific offerings of that particular affiliation.

To view the level of an affiliation, click on Edit Information in the sidebar that appears while you are on the Affiliation's Profile Page. This will give you the necessary details about the affiliation's hierarchy.

• As you modify the Parent Affiliation, the Affiliation Level of the object you are editing will automatically update to reflect the changes made.
