Overview
Genius CE & Enterprise has introduced a new feature that allows Guardians to create accounts not only for themselves but also on behalf of minors who wish to register as students in a learning initiative. Please note that this feature must be enabled upon request. Please get in touch with your Genius representative for more information on activating this feature today.
Creating Accounts
Once the feature is enabled, users can initiate the account creation process by clicking on the "Create Account" button located on the Public Welcome page of Genius+. This action will direct them to a new screen where they have the option to create either a Parent/Guardian Account or to register themselves as a Student.
Upon selecting the option for a Parent/Guardian Account, the user will be prompted to fill out a form with the necessary information on the subsequent screen that appears. This form is designed to gather essential details that will help us create your account.
After completing the initial form and clicking "Next," the Guardian will be required to provide Student Information for each student they are registering. This step is crucial for ensuring that all necessary details about the students are accurately captured to facilitate their registration.
Finally, after entering all the required information, the user will be taken to a review screen where they can verify the details of the registration. Once they have confirmed that all information is correct, they can click the "Register" button to create their account successfully.
Student Dashboards and Course Catalog Tabs
After receiving their account credentials, users can log into either Genius CE or Enterprise. Upon signing in, the user dashboard will automatically display the Student(s) associated with the Guardian Account, providing a clear overview of their registered students.
If there are multiple students registered under the Guardian Account, users can easily select a different student by using the dropdown menu located under the student’s name. This feature enhances navigation and allows Guardians to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
In the Course Catalog tab found in the left menu of the screen, users can explore the various course offerings available through Genius CE or Enterprise. This catalog allows Guardians to browse educational opportunities for any student associated with their account, ensuring they can find suitable courses for their learners.
My Accounts Tab in the Guardian View
To access account information for both the Guardian and their Child Learner(s), users can click on the "My Accounts" tab located in the left menu. This section provides a comprehensive overview of account details, which can be updated at any time to reflect changes or new information.
To update the account information for Child Learner(s), users can click on the three dots located under the "Actions" column. This functionality enables easy modifications to ensure that all student information remains up-to-date.
Additionally, in the top right corner of the screen, there is an option for Guardians to add a new Child Learner if necessary. This feature streamlines the process of expanding the account to include more students.
