This guide has been designed specifically for Genius Class+ users who hold the 'TEACHER' role. It aims to delve into the essential features available in a student's profile. Teachers can utilize this guide to review and effectively manage their assigned students. It's vital to note that the images included in this guide contain sample data. If your Genius Class+ user interface appears slightly different from what is depicted, there's no cause for concern.
MAIN PAGE/DASHBOARD TABS
The Main Page and Dashboard tabs serve as the central hub for accessing all records and data related to the selected student. Within these tabs, teachers have several functionalities available to them. They can reset the student's password, synchronize information with the Learning Management System (LMS), and even log in as the user themselves.
Sync with LMS: This feature allows teachers to instantly push updates, ensuring that any changes made in Genius are reflected in the LMS and vice versa. This synchronization helps maintain accurate and up-to-date records across platforms.
Log in as user: This option enables teachers to impersonate the student's account, allowing them to log in as the student. This can be particularly useful for troubleshooting or understanding the student's experience within the platform.
Beneath the Basic Information section on the Main Page, teachers will find an Academic Snapshot that provides a concise overview of the student's current enrollments. Additionally, recent communications and activity summaries are displayed in the headings below, offering a glance at the student's interactions and progress.
The student profile dashboard mirrors the layout of any other user's dashboard but is explicitly tailored to display unique graphs and analytics that reflect the student's data. It is crucial to note that this Dashboard is exclusively accessible to staff members, and neither the student nor their guardians can view it. The colors representing Pacing, Activity, and Grades are determined and configured by administrators.
EXTERNAL FILES TAB
In the External Files Tab, teachers can view or add any relevant files to the student's profile. The types of documentation that can be included are predetermined and configured by administrator users, ensuring that all necessary files are easily accessible.
VIEW CALENDAR TAB
The View Calendar Tab allows teachers to view or add events to the student's calendar. Users can select different views, including Month, Week, Day, or List, to better organize and visualize the student's schedule.
Teachers can also add new events or reminders for students directly on their calendars, helping to keep students informed about important dates and activities.
GUARDIAN ACCOUNTS
When a student is created within the Class+ system, there are typically one or two guardian accounts linked to that student. By selecting the Guardian Accounts option, teachers can view a comprehensive list of guardians associated with the student, facilitating communication and engagement with the student's support system.
VIEW TRANSCRIPT/TRANSCRIPT ANALYSIS TAB
The Transcript feature in Genius Class+ generates a template that administrator users configure. This transcript exclusively lists completed enrollment information for each student, meaning that any active enrollments will not be displayed here. The appearance of this view may vary from one school to another. Teachers can click the link in the upper right corner to download the Transcript directly to their device in CSV format.
Additionally, by selecting Transcript Analysis, teachers can view the student's Course List, a Summary of Credits required per subject, and update information about existing entries or create new ones as necessary.
TEST HISTORY TAB
The Test History Tab serves as a repository for any historical scores and records of assessments that students may have completed in the past. It is essential to note that teachers should not add gradebook assignments to this section, as they will not be counted toward the final grade for the enrollment.
LOGINS AND ATTENDANCE HEATMAP TABS
To analyze patterns and trends related to student attendance or logins to Genius Class+, teachers can select the Logins or Attendance Heatmap tabs. These tools provide valuable insights into student engagement and participation.
ENROLLMENTS HEADER + TABS
Similar to the profiles found in Section views, teachers can access various reports, lists, and graphs that provide a detailed overview of the students' enrollments. Noteworthy features of the tabs located under the Enrollments header include the Academic Snapshot and the Gradebook, which are illustrated below.
